Independent libraries

NATIONAL LIBRARY OF HERZEGOVINA-NERETVA COUNTY

After the adoption of the Law on Library Activities of the HNŽ, the founding rights of the former National Library were transferred to the County.

The institution employs eight employees. The book collection of the National Library is about 130,000 books, and about 14,000 newspapers and magazines.

NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MOSTAR

J.U. National Library Mostar, with founding rights transferred from the Municipality of Stari Grad to the Administration of the City of Mostar. The Library employs eight employees. The National Library Mostar has about 45,000 books.

LIBRARIES IN THE COMPOSITION

In Jablanica, there is a City Library as part of the Museum “Northern Herzegovina”, and in Konjic, as part of the National University, there is a City Library.

Čitluk Library (as part of the Cultural and Information Center, previously as part of the National University);

Čapljina Library (as part of the Information Center);

Stolac Library (as part of the Information Center);

Rama Library (as part of the Information Center);

Jablanica Library (as part of the Museum of Northern Herzegovina);

Konjic Library (as part of the National University of Konjic).

The founders of the libraries are the municipalities in which these libraries operate.

The University Library operates at the University of Mostar; The University Library operates at the University of Džemal Bijedić; There are faculty libraries at all faculties. The status of these libraries is regulated within the University or University.

School libraries operate at primary and secondary schools in the County for the needs of students and teachers, or the teaching process.

The book collection in the libraries ranges from 3,000 to 5,000 books.

The administrative and professional supervision of the work of all libraries in the County is carried out by the National Library of HNŽ.
