Željko Ćorić was born on September 14, 1964 in Mostar. He is a mechanical engineer by profession. He was an employee of the Soko Factory Mostar, then of the Red Cross Mostar as the head of the AOP Service. He also served as the secretary of the Red Cross Mostar, after which he was the director of the Center for Social Care for the Elderly Mostar. In parallel with these jobs, he was also engaged as a teacher of computer science and mechanical engineering subjects at the High School of Tourism and Hospitality in Mostar, the High School of Construction Juraj Dalmatinac Mostar and the High School of Traffic in Mostar. He served as the president of ALUMNI at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering of the University of Mostar, and was the president of the Croatian Football Club Branitelj from Mostar for four terms and a member of several committees in the Cantonal and Federal Football Associations.
Department of Education
The Institute of Education as a special administrative organization performs professional-pedagogical, administrative and other tasks in educational institutions that work according to the Croatian curriculum in the field of preschool education and education, primary, secondary and education for children with special needs, which refers to:
1. Preparation of proposals for curricula for preschool, education for children with special needs, primary and secondary education.
2. Monitoring the application of prescribed curricula, textbooks and manuals, pedagogical standards and norms in practice and proposing changes and additions to them.
3. Realization of professional-pedagogical supervision in teaching and other forms of organized work of educators, professional associates and directors of institutions.
4. Adoption of the methodology for creating and implementing the annual work programs of educational institutions.
5. Creation of a proposal for a list of textbooks for general and vocational schools.
6. Creation of a proposal for the school calendar for the school year.
7. Creation of professional instructions for work and direct professional assistance to educational institutions and educators.
8. Care and assistance in the introduction of educators, teachers and professional associates in the educational process.
9. Preparation of a proposal for a professional development program for educational workers and professional associates of educational institutions.
10. Adoption of the professional training program for workers and professional associates of the Institute.
11. Creation of a database in order to evaluate the educational process.
12. Active participation in the reform process of general and vocational education.
13. Issuance of professional magazines and publications.
14. Drafting of proposals for implementing regulations from the scope of competence of the Institute.
15. Participation in professional examinations in accordance with the regulations of the Cantonal Ministries of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
16. Preparation of reports, analyzes and other professional work for the needs of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Croatian National Academy of Sciences.
17. Carrying out other tasks of importance for the performance of activities and operations of the Institute in accordance with the law.
