Activity

The Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is the holder of the executive power in the Canton in accordance with the Constitution of the HNK.

In accordance with the Constitution and the Law on the Government of the HNK, the Government performs all tasks related to the implementation of laws, decisions and policies established by the Assembly of the HNK.

The Government of the Canton adopts rules of procedure on work that regulate: organization and method of work; procedure and method of scheduling the session; procedure and form of material consideration; the method of equal use of the language and script of the constituent nations in the preparation and production of written materials; way of executing decisions and conclusions; delegation of authority and other business issues.

The cantonal government has a four-year mandate.

The government consists of the prime minister and eleven ministers.

The Prime Minister directs the work of the Cantonal Government and is responsible for its work, ensures unity in the execution of tasks within the competence of the Government, achieves cooperation with other bodies and directs the activities of the Government as a whole and the members of the Government individually, and performs other tasks determined by the Constitution and the Law.

The Prime Minister signs acts of the Cantonal Government.

Ministers answer to the Prime Minister and the Cantonal Assembly.

The Prime Minister is responsible to the Cantonal Assembly.

Ministers bear ultimate responsibility for the work of their ministries.
